Kim Shivak

Studio Owner and Director

Kim Shivak has danced since the age of 5, and was an assistant teacher throughout high school at Price Dance Studio. She managed the studio for 9 years, before opening her own dance studio in 1989. Her studio, A Step In Time, has been at its current location for 26 years. Kim attends dance workshops and teaching seminars. Her students perform in 2 annual dance recitals, as well as at senior centers, parades, and community events. Dance is her life and she has always enjoyed it, however it is extra special to her now, sharing the experience with her daughters and grandchildren.

Brandi Shivak

Co-Director, Company Manager

Brandi Shivak, daughter of studio director, has been dancing since the age of 2, and competing since age 7. She has performed annually in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade. Brandi has attended many competitions, dance workshops, and started assistant teaching at the age of 16. She began teaching and choreographing full time at the age of 19. Though she teaches and choreographs various genres of dance, her passion is hip hop. She has choreographed many hip hop routines, winning numerous high score, entertainment, and choreography awards as well as cash prizes and regional high score scholarships.

Lyndi Skone

Lyndi Skone

Co-Director, Instructor, Choreographer

Lyndi Skone, daughter of the studio director, learned to do a shuffle step before she could walk. She has performed in Recitals since age 3 and competed at dance competitions since age 5. She has had extensive learning experience from numerous choreographers at dance workshops and has performed in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day parade for 10+ years. She has entertained audiences at the Citrus Bowl Halftime Extravaganza, NFL ProBowl Halftime Performance, Disney World, and Royal Caribbean Cruise lines. Lyndi Graduated from Temple University with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. While at Temple, she was a member of CoExist Dance Co. and Somatic Movers. With the companies, Lyndi has performed at the Philadelphia Arts Parlor, Chi Movement Arts Center, Media Theatre, Philly Fringe Festival, and has also traveled to New York City and Baltimore. She earned a scholarship to attend a Dance Therapy Intensive in New Hampshire and became a Certified Autism Movement Therapy Level II Provider in Los Angeles. She also has experience in coaching Cheer, gymnastics and Zumba fitness. Lyndi has been choreographing and teaching dance for 13 years. She teaches all ages from age 2 to Adult, her true love being Contemporary and Jazz. Lyndi’s choreographed routines have earned various Entertainment and Choreography awards, one being the National Choreographer of the Year award in 2019. Though, her greatest achievement has been the title Mommy to her 6 and 4 year old sons. She is blessed to have the support from her loving husband to continue sharing her passion for dance with others.

Chloe Manogue-Shivak

Chloe Manogue-Shivak

Instructor

Chloe Manogue-Shivak, granddaughter of the studio director, started dancing and competing at the age of 2. She has training in many styles of dance, but her passion is hip hop. She has attended many dance workshops and performed in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade. Chloe has won many awards, high scores, and was invited to dance in the Star Dance Alliance Power Pak. She traveled to NYC to train in the Friends and Company and Limitless Dance Intensives. Chloe has also competed in the Road to Broadway Pageant, Cinderella Pageant, and the All American Boy and Girl Pageant where she was awarded scholarships. She started choreographing hip hop dances at the age of 15. Her routines have won high scores, choreography, and entertainment awards. In 2019, Chloe has had the opportunity to compete in World of Dance New York with Morton’s Dance Center. She is currently working and taking online classes at Montgomery County Community College and plans to attend Kutztown or Temple University in Fall of 2021.

Laura Miller

Laura Miller

Instructor

Laura grew up dancing and competing at A Step In Time Dance Studio. She has performed in Philadelphia’s Thanksgiving Day Parades, numerous Regional and National dance competitions and several dance workshops. Laura traveled to NYC to train in the Friends and Company and Limitless Dance Intensives. She is currently studying Health and Sciences at Bloomsburg University where she participates in the Bloomsburg University Dance Ensemble. Laura is also on the dance team and is presently performing with them. She has trained in many different styles of dance, but Lyrical, Contemporary, and Ballet has always been her favorite styles to learn and teach.
